Stand still long enough on the grass flats and you'll find one already there — shoulders down, neck folded, waiting on a mullet to make a mistake. A great blue heron will hold that pose longer than you can, which is how the bird got to be the one everybody down here recognises. Drawn from an old engraving, ringed in weathered red, with Bushwacker Bay and Orange Beach, AL set underneath. The badge runs big across the back and small on the chest, same mark both places. Two ways to wear it: a garment-dyed pocket tee for the summer, and a heavyweight long sleeve for when it turns. Light lettering, so it reads best on the deeper colours.
